Perfect Duets For Any Date Night

My husband and I are always looking for fun and unique things to do, and Heart & Seoul is the perfect date night destination! However, he’s not the biggest fan of singing in public, which is why our favorite duets are the easy and upbeat ones – you don’t have to be a great singer to be great at karaoke! We’re all about just hamming it up and having a blast. Here are our top 5 favorite duets to sing for a karaoke date night:

5. You’re the One that I Want – Grease

  • Eye contact and attitude make all the difference here. It’s flirty, fun, and a perfect chance to own the stage. Bonus points for the ladies if you can pull out some of Sandy’s dance moves!

4. Love is an Open Door – Frozen

  • It’s easy, it’s silly, and the dialog makes it lots of fun. Plus it’s short, which I appreciate in a karaoke song.

3. Hips Don’t Lie – Shakira and Wyclef Jean

  • This might seem like a funny choice, especially since neither of us speak Spanish. Ha! But it’s great for us because it’s already one of our “go to” blasting songs when we’re in the car.

2. Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell

  • No explanation necessary here. This song is a classic! Since everybody in the audience knows this one, try and get them singing along with you on the end chorus!

1. Don’t Go Breaking My Heart – Elton John and Kiki Dee

  • This makes our list because it’s easy to sing, the vocals are evenly shared, and it’s upbeat! Add a little choreography to make it fun and keep up the energy (think Enchanted if you need a little inspo)!

Those are our favorite “upbeat and easy” duets, but Heart & Seoul has hundreds of others to choose from. Here are a few more ideas depending on your style:

If you love the 80’s

  • Summer Nights – Grease

    • As an employee at Heart & Seoul, I don’t consider it a real night of karaoke unless I hear Summer Nights. It might just be the perfect karaoke song. It’s not too long, it’s not repetitive, the range is easy, it’s a 50/50 split singing parts for guy and girl, and it’s a blast!

  • (I’ve Had) The Time of My Life – Dirty Dancing

  • Don’t You Want Me – The Human League

If you’re trying to raise the romance:

  • Perfect – Ed Sheeran and Beyoncé

  • Lucky – Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat

If you love Disney:

  • Breaking Free / Start of Something New – High School Musical

With both Troy & Gabriella and Ryan & Sharpay, the High School Musical movies are full of great duets for your next karaoke outing with your SO!

  • A Whole New World – Aladdin

Performance tips: This is a slower song, so make sure you don’t let it get boring. Also, if you’re like me, this song is waaayy too high, but never fear! Our karaoke system lets you lower the key. And don’t forget the “do you trust me?” dialog at the beginning for an even more epic performance!

  • I See the Light – Tangled

If you like the classics:

  • I Got You Babe – Sonny and Cher

  • Cheek to Cheek – Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong

If you’re all about country:

  • It’s Your Love – Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, the ultimate country couple!

  • Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not – Thompson Square

We can’t wait to see which duet you choose at your next Heart & Seoul date night! If you have any other duet ideas, share them in the comments. We’d love to hear!
